Forget Ramen for a moment—Try Japanese Curry Soba! 🥢

Everyone loves ramen, but for us Japanese, Soba and Udon are the true soul foods.

While these noodle dishes might seem simpler than ramen, they actually offer an incredible variety of flavors—including some "junk food" style menus that can rival any heavy ramen!

Today’s lunch is Curry Soba and a mini Oyakodon (Chicken and Egg bowl).

Curry Udon and Soba are amazing! They combine a deep, savory Japanese dashi (soup stock) with thick, spicy curry.

Inside the bowl, you'll often find sweet braised "Abura-age" (fried tofu), beef, and green onions floating in the rich soup.

You slurp the noodles while they are heavily coated in that thick curry broth. The flavor is complex, spicy, and absolutely delicious. It’s a must-try!

The Oyakodon that came with the set was also fantastic.

It’s a bowl of rice topped with perfectly seasoned chicken and fluffy eggs.

Most Soba and Udon shops in Japan offer these kinds of "set menus," so you can enjoy both noodles and a rice bowl at once!
