The Best Time to Walk in Japan: Late Evenings in May

May is truly the most pleasant time of year in Japan.

Even in the evening, the sun stays high, and the temperature is just right—neither too hot nor too cold.

I took this photo around 7:00 PM. It shows Mount Daimonji in Kyoto, which is famous for the "Gozan no Okuribi" (giant ritual bonfires in August).

Can you believe it’s still this bright at 7 PM?

There were plenty of people out for a stroll.

Even as it got darker, I saw many international tourists and locals alike enjoying the comfortable air.

If I didn't get so sleepy, I’d honestly want to stay outside all night. That’s how perfect the weather is right now.
